The City Launches Historic Label Art Mural Brochure as Part of Public Art Program
A series of murals that showcase the City's agricultural roots have been installed throughout Watsonville's downtown and its surroundings. Some were privately funded while others are part of the City's Public Art Program.
The murals are exact replicas of box and crate labels used in the early 1900's to identify the product, shipper or grower, and the area of origin. The Watsonville area, as well as the Pajaro Valley in general, had literally hundreds of labels in use during this time.
There will be a Historic Label Art Mural Project Reception on Monday, September 13, 2010 at 6:00 p.m. at the Agricultural History Project Museum. Please join us. Click here to see the pdf announcement LinkClick.aspx
